SMALL WORKS COLLECTION

My small works collection is an expanding group of small sized paintings priced under $250. The styles and subjects of the pieces are derived from my "Transcendent Series" and "Terra HumanSeries".

Winter Frost

*SOLD* This painting encapsulates one of my favorite components of winter in Colorado. Being from Maui my first experience with snow was in Colorado Springs when a beautiful morning frost covered everything with soft fluffy snow. This piece aims to convey the soft silence that can be found in a snow-covered landscape. I find that this silence can encourage self reflection and a meditative state of mind.

New World

*SOLD* In my paintings I often draw my inspiration from intangibles such as emotions, concepts and mentalities but I sometimes find it is beneficial to go back to what first drew me into art in the first place. This would be awe inspiring landscapes because they bring me joy and make me think beyond myself and Glacier National Park certainly did this during my summer road trip. When viewing this in person I felt inspired to create a painting that could bring other people joy and reflective thoughts. This piece asks for humility and contemplation from it's viewer. The dynamic physical structures of our world have been in the process of creation for longer than we can comprehend.

Towards Light

*SOLD* This piece illustrates a modern perspective on women. Women are intelligent, thoughtful and compassionate beings who deserve respect and understanding. The women of this world owe a great deal to the women of the past but the journey is not yet over, please keep striving for what you deserve with voices that are loud and proud.

Trapped in Light

This piece involved an experimental style change that resulted in a unique mood. "Trapped in Light" illustrates the pressures of playing a social role when you feel as if there is a constant spotlight on you. This spotlight is the social expectations of our society and it tells you what to say what to think and how to react to other people. This spot light makes us feel as if we are performing for each other and just trying not to go off script.

Loss of Singularity

*SOLD* This piece deals with the strains of the outside world and how they pull at and challenge our inner being. There are many people and circumstances in life that tell us to do just about anything but listen to ourselves. We are asked to consider logic, reason and the opinions of other people. But we are never taught to listen to what we truly feel. I encourage you to calculate your own internal compass and allow it to guide you above all else.

Submersion

*SOLD* This piece is visually inspired by the fallen and submerged trees in a lake at the Olympic National Park. This figure is floating in dark and cold water yet she is comforted by the nature that surrounds her. She melds into her environment because she understands that she is not separate from the natural world.

Empathy

This piece illustrates true empathy. When we share a persons emotions they grow on us and affect how we see the world. This powerful empathy happens when we form a deep connection with another person and we have shared not only euphoric happiness but also devastating sorrow.

Watching Over

*SOLD* This painting is dedicated to those who have left us. In some way we all leave a mark on this earth by living on it, our thoughts, decisions and actions all leave microscopic impacts that help shape the collective reality. The ones we have lost always live in our hearts with freedom.

Hesitation

*SOLD*  This painting brings a visual language to the concept of hesitation. On a personal note I have conducted much of my life with a heavy reliance on raw instinct and gut reactions. Growing up, I would rarely take a moment to think certain situations through because it didn't feel natural for me. As I have gotten older I have seen the value in holding back and taking a moment to reflect in order to be more thoughtful about my decisions. In these reflective moments I can find my center and achieve a more peaceful mind.

Exploration

*SOLD*  This piece acknowledges when it is time to explore and venture out to the unknown. Often we become comfortable in what we know and enjoy and forget to journey into the unknown. When we explore we learn and can find new passions and new experiences that shape us. When we explore, in a way we give into our most basic human nature.

Our thoughts and emotions can sometimes hinder us when they become toxic and it is up to us to seek help. This help can become a beacon of hope and can lead us to healthier emotions. Hidden
