Mother Nature

This was a significant piece in my conceptual merging of humans and landscapes because of its balance of the representational and non-representational. The landscape breathes in and out of the abstract world allowing for emotion to exist at the forefront. I started this piece with the background and focused on the abstract components until I decided to add the figures. Once the figures were settled in the piece I took inspiration from the tree covered mountains and hills here in Colorado and added pine trees growing around and over the figures. The concept of mother nature is engrained with themes of love, protection, care and vulnerability.
